The best investment you can make in your health

I first approached Holly following recovery from hypothalamic amenorrhea (HA). I was having monthly bleeds but my LH was very low and I wasn’t ovulating. I was also experiencing acne and bloating.

From the very initial call with Holly, I felt that she totally 'got' me and my situation. I had a lot of faith from that call that she was absolutely the right person to work with.

Some of the results I’ve had through working with Holly include: a better sense of physical and mental energy and overall wellbeing, improved sleep, less bloating and my acne is SO much better. I also think I might have ovulated for the first time. I don't want to jinx anything but positive signs! I’m a lot less stressed, more relaxed and have a more positive outlook on life. I also have a WAY better relationship with food.

From everything Holly taught me I now think about food in a different way. I no longer think about calories but I think about what value/benefits each food can give me. E.g. before I'd think '“oh, better not eat that avocado - it's fatty and has a lot of calories” to now “I'll add an avo to this dish to add some fat to help me absorb the nutrients in my veg and stabilise my blood sugar! Plus it's a healthy fat so will help my skin, hair and nails”. I can't believe I've got to this place with food from having an eating disorder in my past. Thank you for helping heal this.

Overall, I feel SO much better. I feel happier, genuinely healthier and like I can enjoy life more. I'm not the same dress size as I used to be (was an 8, now a 10/12) and that's been a bit of a struggle but I think this is my natural set point weight so I'm learning to accept it. The fact I wasn't having periods at a size 8 evidently meant it was not meant to be for me and my body.

Some of the things I loved most were:

  1. Holly is a real expert in her field. She explained things to me that were going on in my body and gave me clarity on these things that were happening internally that I'd have never known otherwise. To have somebody give you such rich insight into what is going on inside you is so golden and valuable. But the way she explained everything to me was so clear and simple - she translates all the complex scientific things into such clear plain language. It really helped me understand the crux of my problems and thus enabled me to tackle them better.

  2. There is no way in hell I'd have known all the supplements, foods and lifestyle changes I needed to make without you - having that expert guidance was amazing for me.

  3. Holly is genuinely one of the loveliest, genuine people I think I have met! She is so empathetic, calm and reassuring - I just felt like she really cared and understood me and I felt like I could tell her and ask her anything. That level of approachability and emotional intelligence I find can be rare with a lot of medical professionals. She just always made me feel like everything was going to be okay and helped my worries/stresses melt away.

  4. Whenever I had a question/query, Holly was super responsive on email which, again, I really appreciated and I never felt bad for contacting her outside of the appointments.

  5. Holly gave me amazing advice not only on nutrition and hormones but just better ways to approach life - e.g. setting boundaries, taking time for myself, taking things slower and caring less!

I would encourage anyone thinking about approaching Holly to do so - it's the best investment you can make in your health. Plus I feel like Holly genuinely cares and is the loveliest person! If I could rate my experience 11/10… I would!!!
