Lab Testing

Test - don’t guess!

With access to a diverse range of laboratory tests and state-of-the-art functional tests, we can find out what may be at the root of your symptoms or delaying your recovery so that we can uniquely tailor your recommendations and fast-track your results.

Some of the most useful tests I use include the below. I’m happy to talk you through each one in more detail if you want to book in a quick free call with me.

DUTCH Complete Hormone Test

This convenient at-home urine test provides a comprehensive sex hormone profile, not only detailing the levels of your sex hormones but also their metabolites. The metabolites give us a much broader picture of how your hormones are actually working and what might be causing your symptoms.

The test also provides a detailed assessment of your adrenal hormones and various neurotransmitter metabolites, so that we can see how your body is dealing with stress (crucial for your other hormone systems).

Advanced Blood Screening Panel

I have designed a bespoke blood panel test with Medichecks that looks at levels of key active nutrients, hormone status, alongside a full blood count, liver, kidney and muscle health. It also shows key markers for inflammation, autoimmunity and blood sugar control. You can either book your blood test at one of their many clinics or have a phlebotomy nurse visit you at home for your convenience.

Invivo Clinical Comprehensive Gut Health Test

This stool test is one of the most comprehensive and advanced GI tests in the world. It uses cutting-edge technology to provide a true DNA-based assessment of your gut microbiome from a single stool sample taken at home. Key markers include enzyme status and digestive capacity, gut barrier function, inflammation, immune markers and microbial activity - bacteria (beneficial and pathogenic), yeast, fungi and parasites.

Lifecode GX Genetic Testing

These comprehensive DNA tests report on gene variants in key biological processes that govern health and disease, and also your susceptibility to stress. I mostly use the Nervous System test and add on the Oestrogen Balance test when needed.

The Nervous System test is the most comprehensive - it includes the FKBP5 gene - which can significantly impact cortisol regulation - and genes that impact the lifecycle (synthesis, reuptake and metabolism) and sensitivity to adrenaline. This test also looks at genes that impact Glutamate - GABA balance.

The Oestrogen Balance test can be used as a complement to the Nervous System test due to the significant interactions between oestrogen, and other steroid hormones, and the nervous system.
